Database Queries - video transcript
The Party Booking System includes an advanced search facility for querying the party database. Use multiple criteria to narrow down your searches. Use the search results to send out a mail merge to your selected contacts.
Right this can look a bit complicated, lets start off with a easy example
lets just search for contacts who have booked a party who live in Canterbury.
The numbers in the yellow boxes clearly show the search results.
there is just one contact who lives in Canterbury.
This Contact has booked 3 parties.
The tabs on the right show the contact and party details.
Lets do a more realistic search to show how that this can be a really useful marketing tool.
We want to send a reminder out to all contacts who have previously booked a party for children aged 10 to 12, with a birthday in September.
The search results show that 4 contacts have booked 6 parties in the past which match this criteria.
What if I just want to promote the disco party in September ? We could maybe just send reminders out to these contacts who have booked a disco party. This leaves 3 contacts.
Thats great, but hangon. We really want to reward loyalty, we could just send a promotion to contacts who have already booked more than one disco party.
Right, this leaves one contact.
we might have overdone the search criteria in this example, but once you are happy with the numbers in the search results, you can send an email or mail merge to these contacts.
Searches and filtering which may have taken a day to sort can now be done at the click of a button.
